66. Bryan Ferry (1945- )
“my uncle’s partner joe once told me he was REALLY hungover the morning after a party in a swanky hotel.he got in the empty elevator and started on the way down to the lobby.he said he had to lean against the side just staring at the floor.after a couple of floors it stopped and a passenger got on.joe was focused on the floor but he saw the shoes and legs of what was definately a gentleman.he said he thought to himself,”wow those are really beautiful shoes.”he looked up to see it was brian ferry.”
Ferry is a hot man, even now that he’s well into his sixties, but the hotness stems entirely from his swoon-worthy voice and his impeccable sense of style, not from his body. That quote is the most recent comment on the Youtube video for “Kiss And Tell,” a terribly overproduced single from Bryan Ferry’s 1988 Bete Noire album. (It was also, oddly, Ferry’s only solo Top 40 hit in the US.) Even amidst all the horrid 1980’s synthesizers, Ferry manages to sound cool and debonair. But the man is so droll, so polished, that it’s maybe not surprising that he’s always been a bigger hit in his native UK than in America. It’s probably also no surprise that a certain cult of Americans finds him irresistible.
